Before acquiring sperm from Born, you need to agree to a pregnancy slot contract. Please read more below.
At Born we have decided to opt for a paid for pregnancy slot (as already operated by other sperm banks). This is in order to assure adherence to national limits on the number of families created by each donor as well as keeping track of the number of pregnancies.
Most countries/regions have their own legally decided national limit; where no national limit is legally in place, we place a limit based on the number of inhabitants.
This means: Due to legal restrictions in national areas, as well as the Born introduced limits, donor sperm may only be acquired while completing a pregnancy slot contract. The contract gives you the right to conceive and create a family using the donor in question.
A family unit is registered as soon as you place an order. You will pay a deposit and fill out a pregnancy slot contract to ensure your right to use the donor in question. Only the confirmation from the treating clinic of an unsuccessful treatment course will release the family unit and deposit, thereby ensuring that the worldwide limit is always adhered to.
The pregnancy slot is automatically added to your order. If you are currently receiving treatment with the donor in question/have a child from said donor, the pregnancy slot can be removed from the basket prior to finalising the order. (If the donor in question has not previously been ordered the cost of a pregnancy slot will be charged). While we have previously assigned pregnancy slots noted, you’re welcome to fill out, sign, and return a pregnancy slot contract and we’ll confirm and file.
You will need to fill out and sign the pregnancy slot contract and return it to sales@borndonorbank.dk If you are a same sex couple both wishing to have the opportunity to receive treatment with the donor, you both need to fill in your details and sign the contract.
If your treatment is unsuccessful, you can apply for a refund of the pregnancy slot charge (within 2 years from contract date), we will need your clinic to confirm that the treatment with sperm from the donor in question, has not resulted in a pregnancy, that no sperm or embryos created with sperm from the donor in question remains in storage.
