Denmark Proposes Doubling Public Fertility Treatment Attempts

More and more people are struggling with fertility issues, and now, every 8th Danish child has been conceived through artificial insemination, compared to every 10th child four years ago, according to the Danish newspaper, Jyllands-Posten.

In Denmark the government is now taking action to support the involuntarily childless and combat the declining birth rate.

More Free Attempts at Public Fertility Clinics

The Danish government has proposed to offer twice the number of attempts at achieving pregnancy through free public fertility treatment – going from three to six cost free attempts.

The initiative comes in response to the declining birth rate in Denmark, along with women having their first child at an older age. Doubling the number of attempts would significantly increase the chances for women and couples dealing with infertility, and it marks an important step forward in ensuring that every dream of parenthood can be realised.

A Promising Future if You’re Struggling with Infertility

At Born Donor Bank, we celebrate this proposal and look forward with optimism. The field of reproductive medicine is evolving rapidly, offering new possibilities and improved success rates.

We believe that expanding access to free of charge fertility treatments is not just a policy change; it's a shift in societal perspectives and helps reduce the stigma surrounding infertility.

This proposal represents a pivotal moment in our commitment to making parenthood dreams come true for all. We hope that it will be passed as soon as possible, and that other countries will follow this example set in Denmark.

Every individual and couple struggling with infertility deserve the chance to become parents.
